Do I have to spar?

Sparring is an important part of training in Tae Kwon-Do. There are various types of sparring including set sparring, semi -free sparring, one for one sparring and free sparring. Beginners are encouraged to develop sparring techniques ,competing against each other as well as against more senior students. Senior students offer advice and assistance to beginners to help them develop. They will encourage you to keep training rather than try to hurt you. Sparring is as much about control as it is about power.
